    Playgroups are a great way to meet other families, help your child make first friends, and build your own community – all while enjoying craft activities, child-led playtime, story-time and a healthy snack with your child.

    Every family receives a new, free book each month, plus there is a $5 gift card door prize drawing every playgroup.

    Playgroups usually meet the 2nd and 4th weeks of each month. Please check website for updates.

    Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District Student Art Exhibit

    Artwork from the Chippewa Falls School District will abound at the Heyde Center for the Arts. The Heyde Center is committed to collaborating with area schools to promote arts education. An exciting exhibit that enables the children to receive recognition for their taletns and allow the entire community ot enjoy. No cost for admission.

    Earth Day Cleanup

    Join Chippewa Falls Main Street as they clean up downtown Chippewa Falls in honor of Earth Day. They pick up trash all the way from the riverfront to Cedar Street, so they need and appreciate all the help they can get at the Downtown Earth Day Cleanup! Register the day of the event at Harmony Courtyard (located on the 200 block of N. Bridge Street). All supplies are provided for the cleanup. 

    Central Lutheran Church also provides a free breakfast before the cleanup at 28 E. Columbia St. for volunteers and the community.

    Hello Gorgeous! at Heyde Center for the Arts

    Hello Gorgeous! is a tribute to the music of singer/songwriter Barbra Streisand by Melody Mendis, the Streisand-tribute artist selling out venues all over the Twin Cities. Barbra Streisand is an iconic American singer, songwriter, actress, and filmmaker whose six-decade career resulted in a number of awards including ten Grammy Awards plus the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and the Grammy Legend Award. Funny, witty, and full of heart, Melody takes on a singer that many tribute artists will not attempt. This concert highlights the many faces of Barbra spanning from her early Jazz clubs all the way to her full stadium-style concerts.

    Valley Art Gallery - Featured Artists for May and June

    Stop downtown in Chippewa Falls and check out the area’s newest gallery and gifts store, the Valley Art Gallery, located at 304 N. Bridge Street across from Mason Shoe. Thirteen local artists display at the gallery and have art available for sale. Check out the variety of classes that are also being offered.

    Jean Arneson and Lynne Maslowski will be the featured artists for the months of May and June.  A reception showcasing their art will be on Saturday, May 18th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Their beautiful art includes original oil paintings, prints and cards of local scenes, (with many of Irvine Park) and unique jewelry made with artist beads, precious metals and leather.

    Enjoy some refreshments and light snacks while visiting with these talented artists. They look forward to seeing you!

    Chippewa Co. Tree Conservation

    The Chippewa County Dept. of Land Conservation & Forest Management is sponsoring a Conservation Tree Program to encourage tree planting held at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, May 2-3, 2019! 

    A mixture of conifers, hardwoods, and shrubs are available for purchase as 1-3 year old bare root tree and shrub seedlings. They are available in multiples of 10, sorted by the same tree or shrub species, with a minimum order of 10 seedlings and a maximum order of 300 seedlings. Orders will be taken through March 29, 2019, with pick up tentatively scheduled for Friday May 3, 2019, at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds located at 225 Edward Street in Chippewa Falls.

    All proceeds will be distributed to local youth and conservation organizations to support environmental education and leadership training.
