    Event Description:
    Playgroups are a great way to meet other families, help your child make first friends, and build your own community – all while enjoying craft activities, child-led playtime, story-time and a healthy snack with your child.

    Every family receives a new, free book each month, plus there is a $5 gift card door prize drawing every playgroup.

    Playgroups usually meet the 2nd and 4th weeks of each month. Please check website for updates.

    TWIN Wolf Ecology Workshop

    Spend a winter weekend with TWIN's hands-on wolf experts, as they lecture on all aspects of wolf biology, ethology, and taxonomy. Learn the intricacies of the predator-prey relationship, and the challenges that wolves can present at the animal/ human interface.

    You'll also delve into human attitudes towards wolves, and how they've shaped the current management plans, both state and federal. And to top off this one-of-a kind weekend, you'll accompany TWIN staffers on a field trip, tracking wolves across the winter landscape.

    Michael Charles at Chippewa Valley Cultural Association

    Chicago Blues Hall of Fame and Grammy elected, Australian blues rock artist Michael Charles claims the stage with an elevated level of energy and a guitar driven journey through thirty-five years and thirty five releases of his original music. 

    Leading off with an explosive blues number, the audience is soon captivated by well-rehearsed precision experiencing MC’s original blues, blues based rock, inspiring ballads, as well as some well-known covers. As in all of Michael Charles’ performances and recordings his guitar is kept forefront and is the driving force behind his music!

    Jig's Up Ice Fishing Contest

    Date: Saturday, February 9th, 2019

    Time: 7am-2pm, no pre-registration

    Weigh-In Stations: The Edge Pub & Eatery and The View on Lake Wissota

    Prize Distribution: The View on Lake Wissota starting at 3pm Prize


    • Over $80,000 in cash and prizes including a 2-year lease on a 2019 Ford F150 Truck drawn from all registered Fish Tickets! Prizes awarded to the top 25 fish and every 5th place thereafter by weight to 300th place so even a small fish can win big!
    • Each participant may register one fish per ticket; tickets are $25 with no limit on the number of tickets an individual can purchase.
    • Everyone who registers a fish may request two free Blugold Football Tickets at the weigh-in stations (value $16).

    Raffle prizes include (raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20!):

    • A 2019 Polaris Sportsman 450 4-wheeler
    • $100 Gift card prizes for the top fish by weight in each category: northern, walleye, and pan fish.

    "The One that Got Away" drawing from all Fish Ticket holders that did not register a fish, turn in Fish Ticket stub at the Prize Table at The View by 2:30pm.

    All state regulations and bag limits apply and no person may bring in more than the legal limit of fish allowed, which for this contest includes northern, walleye, and pan fish.
