Come to Phillips Recital Hall, Haas Fine Arts at UW-Eau Claire (121 Water St. Eau Claire) where they will host the award-winning Finnish folk group, Kardemimmit, on September 28th at 7:00 PM as part of the university’s ongoing musical, scholarly and international programming. Kardemimmit are four young women playing the ancient Finnish national instrument, kantele. The kantele is a traditional folk music instrument that has been played in Finland and other Baltic countries since pre-historic times.

Southview Bear Crawl 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk
The 2017 Bear Crawl will be hosted on September 30th with start and finish at Southview Elementary. Two course distances are offered. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of an inclusive playground so children of all ages, cognitive levels and abilities can play equally and break down barriers during playtime.

Blessing of the Animals
HSHS Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s hospitals will host their annual “Blessing of the Animals” events on Sunday, October 1.
At Sacred Heart Hospital: The event will begin at 2 p.m. on the hospital’s west lawn, near the chapel, at 900 West Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire.
At St. Joseph’s Hospital: The event will also begin at 2 p.m. in the hospital’s Healing Garden outside of the main entrance at 2661 Highway I, Chippewa Falls.
All pets must be leashed or under control and owners must provide clean up. The events are free and open to the public.
