    Playgroups are a great way to meet other families, help your child make first friends, and build your own community – all while enjoying craft activities, child-led playtime, story-time and a healthy snack with your child.

    Every family receives a new, free book each month, plus there is a $5 gift card door prize drawing every playgroup.

    Playgroups usually meet the 2nd and 4th weeks of each month. Please check website for updates.

    The Music of Simon and Garfunkel at 7:30

    at the Heyde Center for the Arts. Swearingen & Kelli will recreate the music, memories and magic of the most famous folk-rock duo of our time, Simon and Garfunkel. AJ Swearingen has been performing this music for twenty years with mastery of Paul Simon’s intricate guitar playing. His deep baritone blends perfectly with Kelli’s angelic vocals, delivering a true tribute to the sound of the iconic duo’s Greenwich Village, NY coffeehouse performances in the 1960s. The concert will feature many of S&G favorites such as “Sounds of Silence,” “Mrs. Robinson,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Scarborough Fair/Canticle” and “The Boxer.” Tickets: $18 adults, $17 seniors, $9 youth

    Aging positively and gracefully is the message of a poignant, hilarious locally-produced play that has received rave reviews. A 60-minute exploration of the delights and dilemmas of aging, Alice in Elderland features everyone’s favorite “Wonderland” characters humorously offering advice to the beloved Alice as she enters her golden years. Audiences consistently report the play touches their hearts while tickling their funny bones. Alice in Elderland is an original production of ecWIT, a troupe that presents dramatic readings of literature, plays and poetry. After the performance, stay for book and fine art craft shopping as well as Autumn Harvest wine and Woodworth Fine Toffee chocolate sampling. Tickets: $15 adults, $14 seniors, $8 youth

    Frosty Frolic

    Back for a third year, the Frosty Frolic encompasses everything to love about winter! Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dogsledding and more! Again this year they will offer 1K and 2K snowshoe hikes. Receive a prize for finishing your loop. Bring your own lunch or purchase lunch during the event. They will have chili, soup, rolls/bread and desserts available to purchase. Dogsledding rides have sold out every year. They recommend reserving a spot in advance. Each Dog sled ride can accommodate two adults or one adult and two children. They do reserve spots for walk-ins and will try to accommodate as many rides as they can during the day, but cannot guarantee that everyone will receive a ride. They will have snowshoes and skis to use and that cost is included in the registration price, as well as the other activities (except the dogsledding).

    Dogsledding: $25

    Join The View on Lake Wissota for the Second Annual Lafayette Loop on Saturday, Jan 19th at 2pm!

    This is a Bar Crawl by Bus where you will spend 45 min to an hour at 6 different locations! Locations will include: The View, The Chalet, Schuetzy's, The Brown Hut, The Liner, and Bateman. The Party will start and end at The View!

    Must be pre registered by January 5th to select your T-Shirt size! Seating is limited so be sure to register EARLY! Cost is $37 which will include Transportation, T-Shirt, and Pizza at The View!

    TWIN Wolf Ecology Workshop

    Spend a winter weekend with TWIN's hands-on wolf experts, as they lecture on all aspects of wolf biology, ethology, and taxonomy. Learn the intricacies of the predator-prey relationship, and the challenges that wolves can present at the animal/ human interface.

    You'll also delve into human attitudes towards wolves, and how they've shaped the current management plans, both state and federal. And to top off this one-of-a kind weekend, you'll accompany TWIN staffers on a field trip, tracking wolves across the winter landscape.

    Michael Charles at Chippewa Valley Cultural Association

    Chicago Blues Hall of Fame and Grammy elected, Australian blues rock artist Michael Charles claims the stage with an elevated level of energy and a guitar driven journey through thirty-five years and thirty five releases of his original music. 

    Leading off with an explosive blues number, the audience is soon captivated by well-rehearsed precision experiencing MC’s original blues, blues based rock, inspiring ballads, as well as some well-known covers. As in all of Michael Charles’ performances and recordings his guitar is kept forefront and is the driving force behind his music!

    HOW TO AUDITION FOR MUSICAL THEATER

    At the Heyde Center for the Arts, 3 South High Street in Chippewa Falls. A two-hour musical audition master class workshop targeting youth (ages 8 – 15) and young adults (ages 16 - 24) who are seeking help and feedback on their vocal performance. Class registration includes a ticket to the evening performance "The Ones that Got Away..." by Nate Plummer and Friends.
