      Valley Art Gallery - Featured Artists for May and June

      Stop downtown in Chippewa Falls and check out the area’s newest gallery and gifts store, the Valley Art Gallery, located at 304 N. Bridge Street across from Mason Shoe. Thirteen local artists display at the gallery and have art available for sale. Check out the variety of classes that are also being offered.

      Jean Arneson and Lynne Maslowski will be the featured artists for the months of May and June.  A reception showcasing their art will be on Saturday, May 18th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Their beautiful art includes original oil paintings, prints and cards of local scenes, (with many of Irvine Park) and unique jewelry made with artist beads, precious metals and leather.

      Enjoy some refreshments and light snacks while visiting with these talented artists. They look forward to seeing you!

      Irvine Park Native Wildflower Sanctuary Guided Tour

      Join members of the Lake Wissota Garden Club for a guided tour. Club members will point out and identify the native wildflowers currently in bloom. Meet at the sanctuary sign/parking lot just south of the duck pond. Guided tours are held the second Saturday of the month, May through September.

      Live Music with Mark Healey & Jim Schuch Duo!

      Join Autumn Harvest on Saturday, June 8 for live music from 2:00-5:00 p.m. with duo Mark Healey and Jim Schuch!

      Mark and Jim each began playing music during the mid 1960s. Mark has been in the world famous band Badfinger since 1986. In 2009, Mark released his CD Inside Out. Recently Jim played in his band Schuh Fly. As a duo Mark and Jim perform a variety of songs that they really like. Artists covered include: Badfinger, Beatles, Bob Dylan, Everly Bros., Buddy Holly, etc.

      COLORED PENCIL: A Three Day Workshop

      This is a three-day workshop with award winning artist, Allan Servoss: June 11, 12, and 13th. This class is for all skill levels and covers basic to advanced colored pencil techniques on various surfaces. Particular attention will be paid to composition, form, still-life to landscape. Various stylistic approaches will be explored also. Class will run each day from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm each day. Supply list provided upon registration. Cost $190 for all three days.

      Chippewa Falls Main Street is proud to host the Cruise In Car Show series in our beautiful historic downtown. Stop down and check out vintage cars, trucks, and motorcycles while enjoying music. The streets will be closed off so you can safely check out all of the amazing vehicles. This event is free and contingent upon weather. If you'd like to participate in the car show, just show up with your vehicle and they'll get you in a spot!

      Join in for an afternoon of live music from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. with Dan Zerr on Saturday, June 15th!

      Dan is a versatile musician with diverse musical tastes, anywhere from folk and bluegrass to pop and rock. He plays bass and guitar with local favorites "Eggplant Heroes", as well as several other bands, and his solo shows feature music from a variety of your favorite artists as well as his own material, including songs from his 2014 release "Guacamole, Macaroni and Cheese".

      Disney’s Cinderella Kids

      Theater Camp - The Heyde Center for the Arts and Director, Sue Decker, are looking for thirty middle school youth who are ready to learn more about acting and performing on stage. The camp does not require auditions, and will accept the first 30 students to register. This will be a wonderful opportunity for those who have never appeared in a performance as well as those who are more familiar with the stage! Come experience the joy of performance and all the valuable lessons that can be learned through the arts.

      Classes: Monday to Friday, June 17 - 28, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

      Performances: Friday, June 28th at 2:00 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m.

      Cost for this camp is $75/child.

      Chill on the Hill

      As a part of its commitment to involve youth in arts and cultural activities, the CVCA/Heyde Center provides an early introduction of children to the arts and culture through offering fort-five minute presentations of various arts/cultural activities at the Heyde Center during Tuesday's in the summer. The target group is 4-10 years of age. There is no cost to participate. Reservations not required, but they appreciate notification is bringing a large group.

      Northwoods Blues Festival

      This soulful festival was voted one of the top five Best New Festivals in the nation in 2015 and hasn’t lost traction since. This year, acts such as Savoy Brown and Joanna Connor will be showcasing their talents with the beautiful Chippewa River as their backdrop in Chippewa Riverfront. Once the festival closes down each night, fans are invited to check out the after glow at Loopy’s Grill and Saloon at 11:30 PM where live music and festivities continue until 1:00 AM. As if you needed any more reason to attend, fans will be happy to hear that there is a free shuttle doing a loop between area hotels, local campgrounds, and festival grounds from 11:00 AM until the conclusion of the after party.

      Songa, an acoustic duo featuring Mario and Sherry Friedel, rooted in the Nashville songwriting tradition, producing original Latin and contemporary Americana music. In Songa, you will hear the eclectic American influences of jazz, blues, Latino, folk and bluegrass, instrumentally woven together with acoustic guitars, ukulele, percussion, harmonica, and prominent vocal harmonies.

      FATFAR

      THE WORLD'S LARGEST FLOAT PARTY OF THE SUMMER!


      This is a 21 and older event. NO COVER CHARGE.
      Float starts around noon below the Chippewa Falls dam. A shuttle will run continuously from 10:00 on between Loopy's, the city boat landing and Lake Hallie Sportsman's Club in Hallie. Loopy's has Tubes, floating coolers, canoes, kayaks and river safe beverages for the river. Hang out at the tiki bar overlooking the beautiful Chippewa River. Loopy's will have food, drinks, volleyball, Giant Jenga, Hammerschlaggen, bean bag toss, a fire pit and a ton of fun. As always, it's your river, please help keep it clean. Loopy's will be handing out mesh bags for your trash. Just make sure to get it to Loopy's or the Sportsman's Club and they will take it from there. DON'T drive drunk. They have FREE shuttles to get you home safely. We want you to be able to come back and see us again. P.S. This is not a family friendly event. You must be 21 to enter. And don't forget...Loopy's has tubing 7 days a week! Weather Permitting.
